Installed a WD My Book for Mac last week and it doesn't seem to be working properly. Time Machine always shows Back Up Delayed (this machine couldn't complete the backup to 'My Book for Mac.' The back up disk could not be found. Make sure the back up disk is connected...or, it shows Back Up Failed (the back up disk 'My Book for Mac' is not available, yet when I open Time Machine it shows the My Book for Mac as the back up disk.

- Been using My Book for Mac for about 2 years without any problem. Consistently backing up, but suddenly the back ups are failing. Information on Time Machine is saying the disk is Read Only. I’ve tried accessing the Disk through iMac Disk Utilities but it’s now not showing up. I’ve downloaded WD Disk Utilities and this can’t repair the disk. I’ve also tried it with my MacBookPro.
If I disconnect the power and USB cords from the back of the WD device, it powers up and does a back up! Subsequently, the messages above again start to display.
