- Hi - I hope this is in the correct forum I recently purchased a BAFO USB to IrDA adapter that claims it is mac 8.6 to 10.x supported. I plugged it in and it shows up in IORegistry Explorer but is unavailble elsewhere (no cu.xxxxxx file in root dev directory). I heard a rumor that mac 10.3.5.

Unplugged / replugged the IRDA Adapter, just to insure it was detected by the driver the J-Track uses. Turned on the Scuba Pro Galileo Luna, pointed the adapter to it.

Many Polar users have been able to use Polar software on Intel-based Mac computers through using a Windows emulating software, such Parallels or Apple Boot Camp.

- MacBook Pro 2.53 GHz Intel, running OS X version 10.5.8
- BootCamp running Windows XP, Service Pack 3
- Polar ProTrainer 5 software (v. 5.10.120)
To install Polar IrDA USB Adapter to BootCamp
1. Start BootCamp.
2. Install appropriate Polar IrDA USB Adapter driver.
3. Plug in Polar IrDA USB Adapter.
4. After installation you can see the adapter in Device Manager.
To install Polar ProTrainer 5 software to BootCamp
1. Install Polar ProTrainer 5 software from installation CD and allow automatic update from Help → Check for updates.
2. Start software and enter your personal information.
3. Test data transfer. For guidelines, please see How to transfer data to Polar ProTrainer 5 via IrDA.

The Irdroid USB IrDA transceiver comes factory pre-configured for 9600 baud rate serial communication. The baud rate can be changed by using the on-board switch and sending specific HEX commands toward the onboard mcp2120 for changing the baud rate setting.
Changing the Baud rate:
The unit allows you to change the irDA SIR baud rate by sending a specific control command when the module is in command mode (by using the on board switch.) Please refer to MCP2120 datasheet for more information on switching the serial baud rates.
